We are delighted to welcome two immensely talented musicians, Katy Taylor and Alice Zhang, for another installment in our series of free lunchtime concerts.

What better way to spend your lunchtime than listening to a program including greats such as Handel and Chopin, right here in the heart of Covent Garden?

Katy Taylor

Flautist

Katy Taylor is classically trained by Dutch chamber musician Eleonore Pameijer (2009-2012) and she is also a scholarship student of the Galway Flute Academy, run by Sir James and Lady Jeanne Galway (since 2020). She resides in London and works as a freelance musician and teacher. Her CD Solo for Flute was released in 2013, including works by Bach, Debussy, Ibert and Koechlin. She has featured as a guest artist in events at the Hermitage Museum in 2011 in Amsterdam and performed for the Dutch musical foundation Kunst in de Kamer the previous year. She has taken classes in Alexander-Technique with Dutch teacher Arie Jan Hoorweg and she uses her knowledge to make her students play with greater musical freedom.

Alice Zhang

Pianist

Alice Zhang’s professional life is fully filled as a pianist/accompanist for vocal/instrumental/ballet and teacher in London, China and Malaysia. She received music undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in piano from University of Malaya (Kuala Lumpur) and Royal College of Music (London). As the Gold Award/First Prize winner of piano competitions, she traveled and performed widely while being acclaimed for “beautiful and touching performance”, with a wide repertoire and wealth of experience.
