Join with for a free lunchtime concert, featuring The Southend Girls’ Choir who perform widely across the UK and overseas, with concerts in festivals, music clubs, cathedrals and concert halls.
The choir has performed at the BBC Proms on many occasions, including Mahler Symphony of a Thousand, Carmina Burana, BBC Ten Pieces and more. The choir tours extensively and has sung at the Sydney Opera House twice, given recitals in Sydney Cathedral, Queensland Performing Arts Centre, and sung at iconic venues including St Mark’s Venice, St Peter’s Rome, Barcelona’s Sagrada Familia, and cathedrals in US, Canada and across Europe. The choir’s London engagements are wide and varied, from The Barbican and Sinfonia Smith Hall to The Café Royal and Mayfair’s Claridge’s Hotel.
This concert will include music ranging from folk songs and spirituals to music by Pergolesi, Gershwin, John Rutter and Bob Chilcott.
