Biographies

Yuri Sabatini

Tenor

Italian tenor Yuri Sabatini has built a reputation for his powerful, expressive interpretations of Italian opera and lyrical song. Performing widely across England in recital and concert, he brings clarity of line, tonal brilliance and emotional immediacy to music by Bellini, Puccini, Verdi and their contemporaries. His recital programmes are shaped around the intimacy of voice and piano, allowing the vocal tradition to unfold with directness and depth.

Caroline Jaya-Ratnam

Accompanist

Caroline Jaya-Ratnam read music at Cambridge University. The winner of several national accompanist's prizes, she has given duo recitals at the Wigmore Hall and Royal Festival Hall, broadcast live numerous times on Radio 3’s ‘In Tune’ and accompanied Bryn Terfel, Danielle de Niese and Rolando Villazon on the Andrew Marr and other television programmes. She has performed in several Proms within the LSO and BBC Symphony Orchestra. As répétiteur she has freelanced for English National Opera and Glyndebourne following being a Junior Fellow at the RCM. Caroline recently recorded a well-reviewed CD, ‘The New Winter Songbook’, with soprano Rebecca Lea (2025)
