Music for cello and piano by Mozart, Bach and Chopin
Anup Kumar Biswas - cello
Born in West Bengal, India, Anup has chosen to make London his home since 1974. He has performed as a soloist in the Royal Albert Hall, St James Palace, Lambeth Palace, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Wigmore Hall, Westminster Abbey, and Gray’s Inn (where in addition to a Vivaldi concerto Anup played an Indian raga at the personal request of HRH the Prince of Wales, now King Charles III). He has appeared as a soloist in the Dvorak Cello Concerto with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra to a capacity audience. Anup regularly tours the USA and has given performances at Carnegie Hall, New York, and the Smithsonian Art Gallery in Washington DC. Anup founded the Mathieson Music School in Kolkata in 1994 and has since undertaken countless fund-raising tours to support the school.
Andrew Campling - piano
Andrew was a chorister at St Paul’s Cathedral, London. A graduate of Keble College, Oxford, he gained a MMus in composition from Goldsmiths’ College, London. He directs the Marcel Sinfonia, the London Docklands Singers, the Choir of the London School of Economics and the Thames Chamber Choir. His compositions have been performed in Britain, France, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Canada, USA and Australia. London venues include the Purcell Room, Westminster Abbey and the Royal Albert Hall. Andrew has composed three symphonies and ten concertos. Five CDs of his music have been released: A Mass for our time, A Mass of Thanksgiving, Piano Music, Celtic Rhapsody, and Santiago. www.andrewcampling.com
