This recital presents a captivating blend of Classical elegance, Romantic depth, and poetic complexity. The program opens with Mozart’s Sonata in B-flat Major, K. 570, a work that exemplifies his mastery of clarity and grace, balancing lively dialogue with introspective moments. Next, Rachmaninov’s Variations on a Theme of Corelli, Op. 42 takes the listener on an emotional journey, as the composer transforms the Baroque theme into a vivid display of virtuosity and lush harmonic textures. The program concludes with Schumann’s Davidsbündlertänze, a collection of 18 character pieces that evoke the contrasting spirits of the composer’s dual personas, showcasing both the introspective and exuberant sides of Schumann’s musical genius.
