Lowther Hall Anglican Grammar School is an inclusive school for girls from Kindergarten to Year 12, committed to excellence for all. Founded in 1920 in Melbourne, Australia, the school maintains a maximum enrolment of 900 students, ensuring a personalised approach where each girl is recognized as an individual. 

Lowther Hall is a learning community in which staff and students work together to achieve the shared goal of educating the whole person for the whole of life. The musical culture at Lowther Hall is steeped in tradition, renowned for its excellence, and firmly established. Girls actively engage in various musical activities, including classroom music, co-curricular programs, private music tuition, as well as instrumental and choral programs. Singing together is an integral part of daily life at Lowther Hall. The Choral Program holds a significant place within the school, with a long and proud history of delivering high-quality performances within and beyond the school community. Through a diverse range of choirs integrated into both the curriculum and co-curricular programs, all girls are encouraged to participate and develop a lifelong love for music and singing. 

The Lowther Hall Anglican Grammar School Choir comprises of students aged 13 to 18, many of whom are also proficient performers on other instruments. The choir regularly presents captivating performances at a variety of concerts and events, including the highly anticipated Evening of Song and Annual Music Concert held at the esteemed Melbourne Recital Centre. Some participants in the Choir are also choristers in the Girls Voices of the Cathedral Choir, the first ever girls-only cathedral choir in the Southern Hemisphere who perform in weekly services at St Paul’s Cathedral in Melbourne. 

In addition, the choir actively participates in Eisteddfods, Masterclasses, and Workshops, and frequently performs at formal assemblies and services within the school. The choir members have even had the privilege of embarking on international music tours. Notably, in 2017, they travelled to Los Angeles, Toronto, and New York, culminating in a stunning performance at Carnegie Hall. This year, the choir is thrilled to embark on their 2024 European Tour, where they will travel and perform in London, Salzburg, and Vienna, expanding their horizons and showcasing their talents on the international stage.
