Frequently Asked Questions

Is this an outdoor performance?

This is an outdoor production at The Actors' Church in Covent Garden.

How do I access the Actors' Church?

There are usually five entrances to the Actors' Church - only one will be open for this performance. This entrance can be found on Bedford Street, on the opposite side from the Piazza. It is a short walk from Covent Garden, Charing Cross or Leicester Square station.

What time do you open?

Access to the church grounds will be from 45 minutes before the start of the performance.

Please be aware that as part of our security procedures, bag checks are utilised at this performance and any alcohol not purchased on site could be confiscated.

Can I book a ticket on the door?

Yes, in most cases you will be able to book a ticket on the door, however we do sell out some of our summer shows, so booking in advance is advised. Please note, we only accept card payments.

How do I book a specific seat?

This performance has unreserved seating, and is on a first come, first served basis. The benches are arranged in a horseshoe shape around the steps that lead up to the church itself, you will not need to bring your own seating.

Do you sell refreshments?

We will be operating a bar open from 45 minutes before the performance starts and during the interval. You will be able to purchase cold drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), including Prosecco, Pimm's and other favourites.

Can I bring a picnic?

Although we do allow you to bring your own picnic blanket, you may bring food but we only allow drink that has been purchased onsite to be consumed on the premises. Remember that the grounds are not accessible until 45 minutes before the show.

Are there toilets?

Yes, there are gender neutral bathrooms located on the first floor of the church. There is also an access toilet located within the foyer of the church. Access to the church is step free.

What happens if I have accessibility requirements?

This production is wheelchair accessible, with level access running from Bedford Street and the accessible toilet can be reached on the ground floor of the church, coming up the ramp, past the set and turning right past the door.

If you have an accessibility requirement, please do contact our Box Office on 020 7836 5221 to make your booking and let us know your accessibility requirements so we can best assist you.

Unfortunately, due to the grade one listed nature of the building, not all our summer productions are accessible for wheelchairs as these are performed on the lawn and therefore two small steps are required to get up onto the lawn.

What happens if it rains?

The Great British summertime is famous for its unpredictable weather! In 99% of chances, the performance will continue come rain or shine. In cases of heavy rain, it may be necessary to halt the performance for a short period. In the unlikely circumstance of extreme weather (including extreme heat), the performance may be postponed until a further date. For more information on this, please read our Weather Policy.

Do please dress for the weather accordingly! If possible, try to avoid bringing umbrellas as they can block sight-lines for other audience members. Raincoats and ponchos are just as fetching - we can provide free ponchos for audience members without any suitable cover!

How do I contact you about my ticket?

For all ticketing enquiries, please contact our Box Office on 020 7836 5221, or by email at concerts@actorschurch.org. Please note, we can only deal with tickets bought directly through our website. For tickets purchased through other agencies (TodayTix etc), please contact your seller. For more guidance, please read our Ticket Refund Policy.

I'm running late, what do I do?

We completely understand that getting around London can be difficult sometimes! Although the performance will start promptly, we do allow access to latecomers during the first 15 minutes of the performance. If you are running late for whatever reason, please ring us on 020 7836 5221, and we will do our best to help you.
