'Elizabethans in London' is a colourful journey from the golden age of English polyphony to vibrant modern settings of Shakespeare.

Central to our programme is Byrd’s Mass for 4 Voices - a beautifully expressive work. This is coupled with two further classics from the period - Tallis If ye love me and Morley Now is the month of Maying. 

Balancing this are two contemporary highlights: Emma Lou Diemer’s Three Madrigals, which are witty and energetic, together with George Shearing’s Songs and Sonnets, whose gentle jazz inflections will add a further sparkle.
