The Sinfonia performs regularly in Southwark Cathedral and St Paul’s Covent Garden and often accompanies the London Docklands Singers. The Sinfonia has also performed in Christ Church Cathedral, Dublin, and in the Signet Hall, Edinburgh. The orchestra’s repertoire includes concertos by Vivaldi, Marcello, Bach, Haydn, Mozart, Schumann and Poulenc. The Sinfonia’s name derives from the Marcel Suite, composed by the orchestra’s musical director Andrew Campling.

Mike Poyser

Mike has carved out a diverse and unusual career in both performance and education. As an educator, he has taught at the RCM and RCM Junior College for several years, is associated closely with the Royal Albert Hall, with whom he has devised numerous education and community programmes, and has worked with the charity Create for many years. As a tuba player, Mike plays regularly with most of the UK’s top orchestras. He has recorded on numerous film sound tracks such as Dumbo and Captain America, and recorded with pop musicians such as Rudimental, Becky Hill, Raye, Caro Emerald, Big Big Train and Pete Tong. Mike is delighted to be performing John Webb’s Tuba Concerto - a rare solo adventure.
