The Actors' Church is delighted to present its Christmas Sing-Along! Bring the whole family to join in the festivities with some rousing Christmas singing. 

Led by a talented ensemble of singers we invite you to join us in raising your voices in song this Christmas, sharing some of the nation’s best-loved carols and popular Christmas numbers at the world-famous Actors Church in Covent Garden. The evening promises to be a magical mix of the traditional and modern that is sure to stir the Christmas spirit.

Fresh from the West End production of Next to Normal Carolyn Maitland joins the fantastic singers leading us in this year's Christmas Sing-Along! The cast also includes: Ellie Leah (Everybody's Talking About Jamie, Mamma Mia!), Sake Wijers (Les Misérables,), Elena Bluck (Barnum) & Joel Nash (Assassins) with musical direction from James McConville.

Programme Includes: White Christmas, All I Want For Christmas Is You, Silent Night, Winter Wonderland, O Come All Ye Faithful, Merry Christmas Everyone and much, much more!

James McConville

Musical Director

After having trained at the BRIT School in Musical Theatre and in Dance at Bird College, James subsequently enjoyed a successful career as an actor and musician. His theatre highlights include Tobias in the West End revival of Sweeney Todd. Composition work includes providing the score to Rebels & Retail, a new musical produced by Andy and Wendy Barnes in Trafalgar Studios 2.  

 

Concurrent to working as an actor, musician, and composer alongside some of the directors, vocal coaches, and production houses at the forefront of British theatre, he has also enjoyed a freelance career teaching in higher education, specialising in musical theatre, musical direction, and vocal technique.

Ellie Leah

Elena Bluck

Training: London School of Musical Theatre and Emil Dale Academy


Prior to training at LSMT, Elena graduated with a First Class BSc (Hons) degree in Natural Sciences from Lancaster University.

Elena recently made her professional debut in Barnum at The Watermill Theatre in the Ensemble and covering the role of Jenny Lind.

Credits whilst training include: Fredrika in A Little Night Music; ensemble/Dance Captain in Soma and Catherine in Pippin.

Workshops include: Redcliffe (The Turbine Theatre).

Sake Wijers

Sake is a Dutch musical theatre performer. He studied Music Theatre at Fontys University of the Arts in the Netherlands and then moved to London to study Musical Theatre at The Royal Academy of Music. Credits include Swing in the West End production of Les Miserables and J.R.R. Tolkien in the workshop of the new musical A Tale of Fellowship.
Sake is also a vocal coach and is an associate of West End vocal coach Claire Underwood.

Joel Nash

Joel is a Cornish performer and creative. Theatre credits include Assassins (Stratford Circus) Sweet, Getting There, An Inspector Calls, The Passenger, Romeo and Juliet, Mark & the Marked (Box Clever Theatre Company), A Christmas Carol (The Egg Theatre, Bath), Wondertown (The Ugly Duck), Joan and Jim - Workshop (Told by An Idiot), Rattlesnake (Catalyst Festival), Cinderella (Hall for Cornwall), Pinocchio: The Radical Robot Girl (The Bohemians Theatre Company), Scouts: The Musical (Gigglemug Theatre). Joel has written two musicals with The Bohemians Theatre Company - Pardoned (The Other Palace) and Pinocchio: The Radical Robot Girl (Sherman Theatre)

In 2022 he wrote Call and Response, a one act play about music and dementia for Box Clever Theatre.
