Dear Patrons,
We are grateful that you have chosen to be with us this evening and share in our music – food for the soul. This evening’s concert includes several genres of music that will resonate with each of you. It is my hope that you will not only enjoy the music, but will also be refreshed and renewed at the end of this performance.
The melodies that we will showcase to you emanate from the depths of our souls, expressed through our vocal cords, with the purpose of establishing tranquility and fostering a desire for national transformation and heightened civic consciousness. The Bahamas is a small island nation that has consistently held the top position globally in terms of the Olympic gold medals earned per capita. We have success stories in every discipline among our youths, men and women.
We call on each of us to remember who we are… the most reliable guarantee for a secure and pleasurable existence is ensuring that every member of our community has access to clear pathway for the success that they desire…
We have been taught that rearing children is the responsibility of the parents . I ask you to consider that raising children is EVERYONE’S responsibility, because our children are the future men and women with whom we must all work, be served by and generally walk amongst.
We at Bel Canto Singers, strongly believe in the transformative power of music, along with various forms of performing and creative arts, to make a positive difference in people’s lives. We are committed to serving as one of the beacons of light in this respect. I believe in the POWER of music to effect positive change—that we would each be willing to raise the collective consciousness such that all would know the power of the individual to make a difference, and then commit to living and exemplifying this ideal.
We are ever grateful to you, our patrons and sponsors, for believing in our mission and work. The world and our island State continues to face challenging times, but out of adversity can result in the best opportunities for growth and renaissance . And so, I ask that we, as Bahamians and citizens of the world, embrace our lot. Know that we have what it takes to move beyond this time to be better, be more joyful, be more empathetic, be more compassionate and, most importantly, to be WHOLE.
Yours in Song and Namaste,
