St Paul’s Church is recruiting a second Events Duty Manager to work alongside its current part time Duty Manager and freelance team to assist in its diverse and growing events and operations. The role will provide an opportunity for someone who has an interest and experience in arts, heritage, or hospitality and is looking to progress in their career or step back into work after a career break.
Location: St Paul’s Church, Bedford Street, WC2E 9ED
Type: Permanent, part-time contract with an initial three month probationary period
Salary: £30,600.00 pro-rata (50%)
Hours: 76 hours per month based on a shift pattern, working at least two weekends a month.
St Paul’s Church Covent Garden is an almost 400 year old Grade 1 listed Anglican church, nestled in the heart of London’s West End. Commissioned by the 4th Earl of Bedford and built by renowned architect Inigo Jones in 1633, the church has served the Parish and theatre community since its opening. It is lovingly known as “The Actors’ Church” and holds hundreds of plaques and physical memorials to many who were linked to the profession over the last 200 years.
Given its location in Covent Garden and its artistic history, The Actors’ Church hosts and supports a busy, eclectic, and exciting kaleidoscope of concerts and events, ranging from more traditional weddings and memorial services, through to charity fundraisers, theatrical performances and corporate events.
This new role provides the opportunity to join a small, friendly, and fun events team which is responsible for delivering up to 700 events a year. There is a broad range of responsibilities, and the position is an essential part of the team ensuring a high standard of delivery across all our events.
The role will report to the Venue Manager and will involve some direct, on the ground line management of a freelance events team; this includes bar, front of house and technical staff.
To apply, please email a one-sided CV and an A4 side Cover Letter to Phil Hunt at info@actorschurch.org
