His was a career of energy and inspiration, firstly as Assistant Stage Manager at the Royal Opera House, and then as Director of Music at Gordonstoun School. His inspiration will be at work once again in this night of celebration.
Celebrate with us the life of John Nicholson in an evening of music performed by his former pupils, friends and associates. Drawn to both music and leadership at an early age, John's career in music was marked by a complete enthusiasm and drive that was infectious to all those around him. The event will include works from the operas that he loved, and the composers that he was drawn to. Most importantly, it is a chance to celebrate the power of a truly inspirational figure, whose belief in his pupils was unshakable, and who gently - or firmly- guided youngsters towards life-long careers in music.
