Capital Arts produces regular shows at St. Paul's Church to fundraise for its Opera Minor Education Outreach Scheme. The concert has always featured outstanding professional performers, including the royal harpist to King Charles III.
The scheme supports music in schools. Every concert showcases its Opera Choir. Opera Minor is without charge and therefore is open to every child who has an interest, irrespective of social background. The scheme is funded through sponsorship and grants. Opera Minor gives children from all backgrounds an opportunity to experience choral singing, opera and musical theatre through rehearsals and performances. Opera Minor gives children an opportunity to work with professional performers at the very highest level. Opera Minor works through schools alerting children of opportunities available outside of school yet enabling children to get involved with their school friends with the backing and support of their schools. Opera Minor provides an opportunity that no one school can provide within the normal timetable, providing children with a cultural activity that has achieved recognition in the top ranks of the performing arts world.
Music Director: Kathleen Shanks
Come and join us for a wonderful evening of entertainment and music with a twist! Featuring a supremely talented west end cast singing songs that they would not normally sing due to their age, race, gender or casting, a classic Broadway “Miscast”. All monies raised from ticket sales and donations made on the night will be split equally between Chicken Shed and The Brain Tumour Charity.
