The Choir at Laine Theatre Arts is one of the many projects that was started to celebrate the 40 years since the college’s inception founded by Miss Betty Laine OBE in 1974.
Laine is a world-class performing arts college based in Epsom, Surrey, training vocational students as triple threat performers who subsequently populate the industry worldwide. Past students include west-end, Broadway and TV personalities Louise Dearman, Kerry Ellis, Ruthie Henshall, Ben Richards and Charlie Stemp.
There are at least 60 graduates performing in the West End alone at any given time.
The Choir has sung for a variety of engagements including charitable functions for Cancer Research UK, JDRF, NSPCC and Carols at Christmas for Epsom Hospital Radio.
Recently they were asked to perform at the prestigious Sir Peter Hall Director Award ceremony, presented by The Royal Theatrical Support Trust for Sir Ian McKellen and for a live televised performance at Derby Day for The Jockey Club in the presence of King Charles III.
