Featuring some of London’s’ most highly regarded jazz musicians, the Actors’ Church are delighted to be presenting three concerts to celebrate the considerable influence the European jazz capital has had on the global music industry.

John Etheridge presents his world-famous tribute to his mentor Stephane Grapelli, Mike Guy brings a celebration of the music of arguably the world’s greatest accordionist Richard Galliano and the renowned ‘London Django Collective’ explore the legacy of Django Reinhardt, by performing some of their impressive original catalogue.

The Festival of French Jazz is an opportunity to hear this highly unique, joyous, evocative music within the Grade 1 listed, 400-year-old acoustics of the ‘Actors’ Church’ – so called because of the church’s close historic association with the theatre community of London’s west end.

The bar will be open throughout the performance, so please do grab a drink at any time.

Please note there are no public toilets on site, the nearest are located just outside the church on the Piazza.

Please note there is no set seating for this event. We are operating some COVID measures within the church.

- We ask that you wear a mask whilst in the building.

The World Of Richard Galliano

The Band

This exciting band pays tribute to one of Europe’s greatest living accordionists, Richard Galliano.  The group features established members of the London jazz circuit: Eric Guy (double bass), Harry Diplock (acoustic and electric guitars) and Mike Guy (piano accordion).

Since its formation in early 2020, the group has performed at a host of prestigious UK venues including the Green Note, Toulouse Lautrec Jazz Club, The Vortex Jazz Club, Gypsy Jazz Festival of London, 1000 Trades Birmingham, The Parlour and others.

Over a career spanning more than fifty years, Richard Galliano has worked in a myriad of musical settings, from solo to orchestral and big band to quartet.  His music is a heady mix of styles including Argentine tango, French musette waltz, gypsy jazz and others.  The group honours his work performing his greatest compositions as well as similarly inspired originals by group members.
