The Actors' Church welcomes Eva Bogoevska & Pinar Celik Warsi for a concert of music inspired by the Balkans.

Eva and Pinar met each other through very close friends and this concert is their first musical collaboration. They have close cultural links from their homelands, Macedonia and Turkey. 

This concert will have the colours of the Balkans and Europe. They’ll  be playing a programme from Baroque to Contemporary with one of the most favourite Piano and Violin sonatas composed by Johannes Brahms. This concert has an exciting surprise, Eva will be doing the London premier of a piece by a Macedonian composer called Zivojin  Glisic based on a Traditional Folk tune.

Biography

Pinar Celik Warsi

Piano

Pinar Celik Warsi was born in Istanbul, began playing the piano in 1991 at Istanbul Anatolian Fine Arts High school and in 1994 she was accepted to Istanbul University State Conservatory where she studied with Professor Meral Yapali. Pinar obtained her BMus with honours in 2000 and continued her Postgraduate Diploma in Advance Performance studies at Royal Northern College of Music with Renna Kellaway in the UK.

During her studies she has played solo and chamber music concerts in prestigious Hall such as Ataturk Cultural centre, Austrian cultural Centre , International Piano Series in Istanbul to mention a few. She also performed with Istanbull University State Conservatoire Orchestra as a soloist. From 2001 to 2006 she taught and worked as an accompanist at the Istanbul University State Conservatory while continuing her performances in Turkey and abroad. After moving to the England in 2006, she continued her studies at the Royal Academy of Music with Tatiana Sarkissova and obtained her Postgraduate Diploma in Piano Performance in 2008.

The highlights of her many solo and chamber music recitals in Turkey and abroad include the Istanbul International Music Festival, the International Interfest Bitola Music Festival, and collaborated with many musicians. Pinar has played in Istanbul's important venues such as Cemal Resid Rey Concert Hall, Is Sanat Concert Hall, Ataturk Cultural Centre, Austrian Cultural Centre, Steinway Haus in Dusseldorf. She played with Istanbul and Adana State Symphony Orchestras and Istanbul Chamber Orchestra. As well as in Turkey, Pinar has performed in Germany, Spain, Macedonia, Italy and in the U.K. She has participated in master classes with Professor Sergei Dorensky, Irina Zaritskaya, Huseyin Sermet, Barry Synder, Andrei Diev, Leontina Margulis, Diana Ketler and Dianne Andersson.

She has participated in international competitions. She won the 2nd prize in the 3rd Interfest Bitola International Piano Competition and the 3rd prize in the 7th Shabhyt-Inspiration International Chamber Music Competition in Astana. Pinar lives in London and teaches piano privately and at the Rachmaninoff Academy of Music

Eva Bogoevska

Violin

Eva Bogoevska was born on the 27th October 1999 in Skopje, Macedonia. She has started playing the violin at the age of seven. In 2016, at the age of sixteen, Eva Bogoevskabecame a student of violin on  the Faculty of Music Art in Skopje in the class of  professor Oleg Kondratenko and she graduated in his class in 2020 with the highest average mark 10.00. She enrolled in master’s studies in the class of professor Sergey Ostrovsky and she graduated in his class with the highest average mark 10.00 in 2022.

At the very beginning of her music career she  won on the International Classical Music Festival Ohrid Pearls ,and was invited to participate in two concerts in Bratislava, Slovakia.

She also won numerous Special first prizes in Macedonia. She brought several International first prizes and acknowledgements to Macedonia as well , among which the most remarkable: First Prize in Festival for classical music  in San Remo,Italy in 2012; The first degree laureate in the well  known International Festival of Classical Music in Sankt Peterburg, Russia in the year 2014,where 150 competitors from all over the world took part; Grand Prix in the International Festival of Classical Music and Art in Jerusalem,Israel in 2016. In 2017 Eva Bogoevska won the first prize in the International Festival of Classical Music RONDO in New York where 200 competitors of the same category, from all the continents in the world took part. As the first prize winner in this competition, Eva Bogoevska had a concert performance in the well known Carnegie Hall in New York.

Since 2017 Eva Bogoevska has been a member of FAME’S Film Orchestra where she recorded movies scores. Since 2020 she has been the youngest member of the Macedonian National Philharmonic Orchestra.

Eva Bogoevska has performed as a soloist with the Macedonian Philharmony as well as with the National Orchestra of the Opera and Ballet in Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam.

She has also performed as a soloist in Slovakia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Italy, Russia, Austria, Chezia, Hungary, Israel, USA, France, Portugal, Turkey and North Macedonia.
