Matthew Sear is a London born musician noted for compositions and performances that draw from a variety of styles. 

He trained as an undergraduate at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and as a post graduate at the University of Surrey and Trinity Laban Conservatoire, studying classical guitar/composition and exclusively composition at the latter. He additionally holds fellowships with The Royal Society of Arts and the London College of Music. 

He gave his debut at St Paul's Church, Covent Garden (in 2006) and has since, performed as a guitarist/composer at venues that have included; St John Smith’s Square, St James’ Piccadilly, Hertford College (University of Oxford) and St Martin In The Field's 'Series For Young Composers'.

International performances have taken Matthew across; France, Spain, Sweden and North America, while his own pieces have been performed at home and abroad, receiving premier performances at The Edinburgh, Toronto and Adelaide fringe festivals.

He has featured in magazines and journals that have included; Classical Guitar, Guitar Tutor, We Are Cult, The Jewish Chronicle and the American classical music publication Fanfare;  writing.
