Andrew Campling Presents
Andrew Campling’s Concerto for Cello, Sitar and Orchestra receives its premiere with international artists Anup Kumar Biswas (cello) and Jonathan Mayer (sitar). The concerto portrays images in sound of the mighty River Ganges (Maa Ganga), the sky at night (Akash), a landscape in the Himalayas, an evening scene (Sarasvati) and a festival (Utsava).
The concerto is complemented by Vivaldi’s effervescent, ever-popular Gloria, sung by members of the London Docklands Singers and the Choir of the London School of Economics.
All proceeds to the Mathieson Music Trust, supporting the Mathieson Music School in Kolkata, India.
Led by conductor Andrew Campling and the professional players of the Marcel Sinfonia this promises to be a memorable evening!
